Get ready for daytime in primetime when The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards is broadcast live on Friday, June 16, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS! (Also available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.) This is the 17th time CBS has broadcast the Daytime Emmys, more than any other network, and they have also reached a deal with The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to broadcast the awards this year and next!
“We are thrilled to be back with our incredible broadcast partner CBS for two years,” said Adam Sharp, president and CEO of NATAS, adding, “In commemorating the show’s golden anniversary this year, we look forward to honoring and celebrating the beloved world of daytime television.”
“CBS has a storied history in daytime and we are delighted to continue having the Daytime Emmys on the Network for the next two years,” said Mackenzie Mitchell, vice president of specials, music, and live events at CBS. “We look forward to celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary and highlighting the best that daytime has to offer.”
Since 1974, the Daytime Emmy Awards have recognized outstanding achievements in daytime television programming and crafts. Over the years, categories have changed with the times, and in 2021, NATAS and the Television Academy realigned the Daytime and Primetime Emmy Awards to be organized by genre instead of program airtime.
The 2023 Daytime Emmys will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Los Angeles on Friday, June 16. More information about the ceremony, including nominees, hosts, presenters, and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks. So keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for all the updates!
