Edward J. Scott and Melody Thomas Scott To Receive Lifetime Achievement Emmys

The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the recipients of Lifetime Achievement Awards that will be handed out at the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards. They are actress Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki, The Young & The Restless), producer Edward J. Scott, and host and author Lidia Bastianich.

“We’ve long wanted to honor the legendary daytime duo of Melody Thomas Scott and her husband Edward J. Scott,” said Adam Sharp, President and CEO, NATAS. “With a combined 93  years of contributions to our community, they are true institutions in the world of Daytime television. In addition, Lidia Bastianich’s astounding success combines her love of cooking while simultaneously entertaining millions each day. It is an honor for us to say ‘grazie’ for the many fine meals borne from her TV kitchen and cookbook pages.” 

Melody Thomas Scott recently celebrated her 45th anniversary as Nikki Newman on Y&R and has enjoyed an impressive career in film and television, making her movie debut as a young Tippi Hedren in Alfred Hitchcock’s Marnie. Her husband of nearly 40 years, Edward J. Scott, has won six Daytime Emmys during his career in daytime which began as an associate producer for Y&R in 1976. After serving as executive producer of Y&R for decades, Scott went on to executive produce Days of Our Lives and is currently supervising producer of The Bold & The Beautiful.

Bastianich is a Daytime Emmy-winning public television host and best-selling cookbook author, restauranteur, and chef. She has created award-winning cooking shows like Lidia’s Kitchen, Lidia’s Family Table, Lidia’s Italy, and Lidia’s Italy in America.

The Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented during the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremonies on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8.
