Sydney Mikyalya Reacts to Her Daytime Emmy Award Nomination!
When the 2022 Daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced, GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Sydney Mikayla (ex-Trina) was among those up for Outstanding Younger Performer for her work on the soap in 2021. The actress took to Instagram to share her reaction to the big news with her fans and supporters. ‘I just got nominated for my second Daytime Emmy!” she enthused. “What a way to wrap up my time on GH!
“Thank you to my family, friends, and fans of the show who allowed me to continue to take on the role of Trina for three years!” Mikayla added before giving a shout-out to her fellow GH nominees in the category. “Congrats to William Lipton (Cameron) and Nicholas Chavez (Spencer) as well!”
Mikayla also shared a video she took in the yard addressing her fans more personally. “Hey, so I’m not really feeling my best,” she admitted, “but I just wanted to come on and let everyone know that I’ve been nominated for my second Emmy! This is insane! I was not expecting this at all.
“But I just want to thank everyone for the congratulations,” she continued. “I want to thank my mom and dad, my GH family, and God, of course. So thank y’all for supporting me. Especially while I sound like this! So please pray for me to get better so I can enjoy this moment, but thank y’all from the bottom of my heart.”
Mikayla was nominated for Outstanding Younger Performer last year at the 2021 Daytime Emmys but lost out to DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Victoria Konefal (Ciara). Will this be her year? Make sure you tune in on Friday, June 24, on CBS to watch this year’s Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony and cheer her on!
