The 2023 Daytime Emmy Awards Are Being Rescheduled!

Tags:

Great news, soap fans! It looks like the Daytime Emmy Awards are finally being rescheduled and NATAS promises a weekend of celebrations. “We are pleased to honor once again the writers, performers and other creators that inspire and entertain audiences of all ages,” said Adam Sharp, President and CEO, NATAS. “We look forward to a fun-packed weekend that underscores the amazing scope of content making a difference in viewers’ lives.”

The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony was originally scheduled to be held on June 16, but because of the WGA strike, both it and the Creative Arts & Lifestyle ceremony planned for the following day, had to be postponed.

Thankfully, the WGA strike came to an end on Sept. 27, and although the Actors Guild is still currently striking, soap actors work under a different contract and are not affected by it. So daytime fans have been eagerly awaiting the news of when this year’s Daytime Emmys would finally be held and we can all find out who won!

NATAS has now announced that the 2023 Creative Arts & Lifestyle ceremony is going to be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 12 p.m. PT/ 3 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast live from the Westin Bonaventure LA on both watch.theemmys.tv and The Emmys apps. The Childrens & Family Emmys will be held on Sunday, Dec. 17.

Now, this would seem to indicate that the main Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony should be held on Friday, Dec. 15, but unfortunately, no official announcement has been made yet regarding the main ceremony. But this is definitely a step in the right direction so keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for more updates as future announcements are made.
