Winston Rudge on GENERAL HOSPITAL — Everything You Need to Know

Robert recognized Winston Rudge on GENERAL HOSPITAL but if you’re not a spy with a great memory for faces and names, it’s understandable if you didn’t. Or maybe you thought he looked familiar but don’t remember him being on the soap before. Well, we’re here to help fill in the blanks! The character first appeared back in December 2016 and was played by actor David S. Lee until his exit in August 2017. The actor might also be familiar to viewers from his roles on primetime series like NCIS: LOS ANGELES, THE LIBRARIANS, and NIKITA or films like Black Panther and Geostorm. Lee returned to GH to reprise his role in September 2020 and no doubt stir up more trouble!

Winston Rudge first showed up when Jason Morgan (actually Drew Cain at the time) and Curtis Ashford went to his pawnshop looking for information linking Julian Jerome to the car bomb that had killed Morgan Corinthos. Winston was working for a mysterious person who was later revealed to be Julian’s presumed-dead sister, Olivia Jerome. He vowed to stop Jason and anyone else working with him, setting his pawnshop on fire with Jason and Curtis inside but they made it out alive.

Under Olivia’s orders, Winston drugged Laura Spencer’s coffee and kidnapped her. He also tried to murder Julian by smothering him with a pillow, but failed. When Olivia felt her work in Port Charles was done, he went to meet her so they could escape to Canada but a furious Sonny Corinthos showed up instead, demanding to know where Olivia was. Winston told him everything he knew, which wasn’t much, and insisted he didn’t realize Olivia was so crazy. Dante Falconeri arrested Winston, who was sent to prison. In August 2017, Winston made another appearance at Julian’s trial where he lied on the stand that Julian was a willing accomplice in Olivia’s crimes.

In September 2020, Winston had apparently gotten out of prison one way or another because he was running the Le Lucien Casino in Monte Carlo! While looking for information on Holly Sutton’s whereabouts, Olivia Falconeri didn’t recognize the guy but Robert Scorpio did. When Winston said Robert looked familiar, Olivia quickly came up with a cover story and the pair beat a hasty retreat. But Robert worried it was only a matter of time before Winston remembered his face and figured out why they were there.
