Daytime alum Pierson Fodé (ex-Thomas, The Bold & The Beautiful) has been cast opposite Lily James in an upcoming film from 20th Century Studios about Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of dating app Bumble! “My great aunt read this [news] and said I’m ‘Officially the Hollywood Cowboy!’” the former farm boy declared on Instagram. “She also said a spoonful of lard is good for the arteries…

“The good news is that Lily James and my line dancing skills are off the charts!” he added. “Honored to join the badass cast and crew that are telling this incredible story. Stay tuned for a few more announcements!”

While Fodé’s specific role in the film has not yet been revealed, Deadline is reporting that he is playing one of Herd’s love interests in a cast that also includes Myha’la and Dan Stevens. As the flick is currently in pre-production, there isn’t even a title yet, but it will center on Herd, who became one of the youngest self-made billionaires at 31 after co-founding Tinder and then leaving to creating Bumble.

Soap fans remember Fodé well from his 2015-18 run as Thomas Forrester on B&B. After leaving daytime, the handsome and talented actor found work in primetime series like Dynasty, Supergirl, and Animal Kingdom, as well as in films like The Man From Toronto and Out of Hand. He also has roles in the upcoming movies Dope Queens, Marshmallow, and 72 Hours.

We’re sure Herd’s story will be a fascinating one to see told on the big screen, and look forward to seeing Fodé’s part in it. Check back here at SoapsInDepth.com for future updates, especially when there’s a trailer and release date announced!
