Eric Braeden Visits THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL!
Call it the Clash of the CBS Soap Titans! During a recent day at CBS Television City, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Eric Braeden (Victor) wandered across the hall to the studio where THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL tapes to check in with some of his colleagues at the sister soap.
On Instagram, Braeden shared some photos of his hangout with B&B actors John McCook (Eric) and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge) as well as supervising producer Ed Scott, formerly an executive producer at Y&R. “I thought I’d go slumming on the set of B&B,” Braeden joked on Instagram. “Visiting with my old friends, Thorsten, John, and Ed.”
While this visit happened behind the scenes, Braden did once make an on-air crossover when Victor traveled from Genoa City to Los Angeles back in 1999 to meet with Brooke for a possible partnership between Jabot Cosmetics and Forrester Creations. A bonus to the business trip was when Victor got the opportunity to help Brooke make Ridge jealous by kissing her at Café Russe before he left town!
As longtime viewers of both soaps know, characters often cross over between the cities. Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) made sporadic appearances on B&B in the early ’90s and from 1995-99 was a regular cast member. Eileen Davidson’s Ashley also lived in Los Angeles for a time and romanced Ridge. Kimberlin Brown has played Sheila on both soaps for extended periods of time, as has Sean Kanan with his alter ego, Deacon. Multiple other Y&R stars have appeared on B&B, like Lauralee Bell (Christine) and Peter Bergman (Jack). Likewise, McCook has taken Eric Forrester over to Genoa City several times over the years, most recently in June 2021).
Another crossover event will take place between the two shows later this month, starting with the Friday, Oct. 27, episode of B&B. In the soap’s current storyline, a big fashion face-off is ahead between Eric and Ridge, and Marie Osmond will guest-star as the wealthy Countess Von Frankfurt. In support of her old friend Eric, Bregman’s Lauren will also be in attendance at the big fashion show, and she’s bringing Esther (played by Kate Linder) as her guest since Esther has always dreamed of owning an original Forrester Creations design!
