Rena Sofer Says Goodbye To THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL!
Get ready to say goodbye to THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Quinn! The jewelry designer’s portrayer, Rena Sofer, had her fans in a tizzy when she posted a cryptic message on Instagram on August 16 indicating that the Friday before had been “a very big day for me.” While Sofer’s post didn’t specify details about why it was a monumental turning point in her life, the flurry of comments from her B&B co-stars — most of which were heart emojis — had the actress’ fans worried that she was parting ways with the soap.
And now comes confirmation from Sofer, who joined the cast of B&B in 2013, that has decided to leave the soap.
“Friday, August 5, was not just my daughter’s birthday, but the end of my 9-year run as Quinn on B&B,” the actress announced. “I know it’s heartbreaking for some and it is for me as well, but it’s time for me to move on with both my acting career and my pottery career.”
In an exclusive interview with Soap Opera Digest, Sofer clarified that parting ways with the soap was her decision. “Now is my time to see what’s out there for me,” she shared. “I had already decided this was going to be my last contract, but when they finished the story of Quinn and Carter coming together, it seemed like the right time.”
Sofer made her B&B debut in the summer of 2013 as Wyatt’s mom — and Bill’s former fling. The actress began her soap career when she was cast as Rocky McKenzie on LOVING in 1988 and stayed with the ABC soap until 1991. She later joined the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL as Lois Cerullo in 1993, earning a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 before exiting the soap the following year. Sofer reprised her GH role for a few episodes in 1997 before going on to land several high-profile primetime gigs in shows like JUST SHOOT ME, COUPLING, HEROES, and NCIS.
