Some fans may have suspected it but many were still quite shocked when it was revealed that Finn was really alive on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL! At the climax of the May 23 episode of the CBS soap, viewers saw that Finn was still alive — although in a coma — and being tended to by his mother, Li!
And while the soap had kept this shocking twist a secret from fans, naturally actor Tanner Novlan knew what was going on right from the start (even if he — and co-star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) — both spoke publicly about his exit as though it were permanent. “I kinda knew,” he admitted during an appearance on THE TALK discussing his shocking return to B&B. “Don’t be mad at me.”
However, what he was unprepared for was the fan reaction to the soap seemingly killing his character off like that. “I was blown away at the fans’ reaction,” Novlan declared. “I couldn’t believe the support. But I was contractually obligated not to tell you guys and I felt awful about it!
“But it was still kind of fun,” he confessed with a sly smile. “And I think that’s what our soap does so well is you never know what’s gonna happen or where this is gonna go.”
While Novlan was able to spend a little bit of time off work with his pregnant wife, Kayla Ewell (ex-Caitlin, B&B), and their two-year-old daughter, Poppy, he still had to keep the big secret of his eventual return. And that was hardest to do with his mother, ?. “Because my mom is the biggest B&B fan,” he laughed. “She was devastated when she found out I was getting killed off. She was so mad at the producers! I was like, ‘Don’t write, Mom. It’s gonna be okay.”
Now that it’s been revealed that Finn is alive, it’s only a matter of time before he regains consciousness and finally reunites with his beloved wife, Steffy. “This is gonna be a big moment,” Novlan teases of the upcoming scenes that “Sinn” fans are eagerly anticipating.
So stay tuned so you don’t miss any more twists and turns as the storyline continues to unfold!
