Y&R’s Hunter King Stars in a New Hallmark Movie!

Even though THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Hunter King won’t be returning to the soap now that the role of Summer has been recast with newcomer Allison Lanier, the Daytime Emmy winner will still be on TV screens very soon! The actress will be starring in a new Hallmark Channel movie premiering this summer!

Called Hidden Gems, the romantic film is set to debut on Saturday, June 4, as part of the network’s Summer Nights lineup and stars King as Addie alongside GOOD TROUBLE’s Beau Mirchoff as Jack. While in Hawaii preparing for her sister’s wedding, Addie loses her grandmother’s ring and hires dive instructor Jack to search for the family heirloom. Of course, the two clash when Addie insists on tagging along. After they reach an agreement, Jack ends up giving Addie a private tour of the island’s hidden gems along the way, and romance blooms between the pair.

The movie is not just set on the beautiful tropical shores of Hawaii but is being filmed there as well. The former Y&R star was already in Oahu in late March, posting on Instagram that she was “Hunting for Mai Tais” while enjoying a day at the beach.

As she prepares to make join the ranks of Hallmark Channel’s leading ladies, King got a big round of props from her former TV mother, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, Y&R). “This baby girl,” Stafford raved on Instagram, sharing a selfie of the two hugging. “I love you so much, Hunter. Go get um, you superstar!”

Hidden Gems is slated to premiere on Saturday, June 4, at 8 p.m. As it turns out, King isn’t the only soap alum featured in the cable network’s summer movie lineup, either: Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Ashley Williams (Dani, AS THE WORLD TURNS) will co-star in Two Tickets To Paradise, debuting Saturday, June 23, at 8 p.m.
