Is Y&R’s Courtney Hope Pregnant in Real Life?

With Sally expecting a baby on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, some viewers have found themselves wondering if Courtney Hope is pregnant in real life. While the actress is currently dating co-star Mark Grossman (Adam), they are not expecting a bundle of joy in real life like Sally and Adam are on TV. Anyone who follows Hope on Instagram can see there’s no baby bump in reality!

As Sally navigates her complicated pregnancy (having Adam’s baby while in a relationship with his brother, Nick), her portrayer’s growing belly is simply a series of pregnancy pads increasing in size as the months go on. Y&R castmate Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea), who is currently pregnant with her second child, even shared a fun pic on Twitter with Hope. “One real bump, one fake bump!” she joked.

It’s understandable, though, for fans to wonder if those baby bumps they see on TV are real. Because sometimes the soaps will write an actress’ real-life pregnancy into her storyline. For instance, right now, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL star Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) is pregnant with her fourth child, but the soap only wrote in her second pregnancy when Steffy found herself wondering if Liam or Finn was her child’s babydaddy.

For Wood’s current pregnancy as well as Egan’s, the soaps are covering up their baby bumps with coats, purses, and camera angles since their characters aren’t supposed to look like they’re expecting. But for Hope, she’ll be showing off her growing baby bump until Sally gives birth to Adam’s baby. And this will be good practice for when the actress becomes a mom herself in real life!
