Y&R’s Donny Boaz Reveals His COVID Diagnosis
There has been another positive coronavirus test at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, this time from actor Donny Boaz (Chance). “I have a little news that I need to share,” he posted to Instagram. “A few weeks ago, I tested positive for COVID-19.
“Thankfully, I did not have any symptoms,” Boaz added. “In following guidelines, I quarantined at home so you may not see me on Y&R for a bit. I’m happy to say I’ve returned to work and will be back on the air very soon. Thank you for the continued support.”
It sounds as though Boaz was asymptomatic, which means he didn’t get dangerously sick and require hospitalization, though he was still carrying the virus. Thankfully, Y&R has very strict protocols in place that hopefully prevented anyone he came in contact with from catching it. Back on Nov. 1, there were two positive COVID tests reported at the Y&R studio but the soap was able to remain in production even as those individuals self-isolated.
In recent episodes of Y&R, Chance found himself taking a bullet for Adam and being hospitalized, developing a dangerous staph infection. So it shouldn’t be too noticeable if the character remains in the hospital for a couple of weeks before returning to the canvas. We’re glad to hear that Boaz is back to work and healthy again so we can see what happens next!
