Please join us in congratulating THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Michael Graziadei (Daniel) and his girlfriend, Lauren Carey, on their engagement! The actor actually popped the question during an appearance on the CBS daytime series THE TALK while promoting the soap’s 50th anniversary.

After the hosts noted that Lauren was sitting in the audience today and then showed a photo of the couple’s twin sons, Arlo and Bear, they discussed Graziadei’s surprise return to Y&R and then prompted him to go ahead and deliver one more surprise.

Bringing Lauren up onto the stage under the pretense of doing something special for her birthday. “I was thinking how there is no one on this Earth that I would rather grow old and die with,” he declared, pulling out a ring and dropping to one knee. “So I was wondering, Lauren Michelle Carey… if you would marry me.”

Overwhelmed, Lauren got down on the stage to kiss him. “Is that a yes?” he laughed. When she confirmed that “of course, it’s a yes,” he then proudly shouted, “She said yes!” The whole audience got to their feet to cheer the happy couple, as did the hosts and Graziadei’s Y&R co-stars, Christel Khalil (Lily), Bryton James (Devon), and Camryn Grimes (Mariah) who were appearing alongside him.

As she hugged her new fiancé, Lauren looked over his shoulder and joked to Khalil and James, “I guess I can thank you two for this because he can afford the ring now!” (Khalil and James were instrumental in bringing Graziadei back to Y&R for his latest run.)

Keeping the laughs coming, Lauren admitted that she was surprised by the proposal because “it’s been 10 years so I figured it was never gonna happen.” And when asked what was going through his mind after Lauren said yes, Graziadei admitted, “I really have to pee!”

Congratulations to the happy couple and we look forward to a beautiful wedding in the future.
