Y&R’s Joshua Morrow Reveals Nick’s True Love!
Over the years, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Nick has had his fair share of ladies in his life: Sharon, Phyllis, Avery, Sage, Diane, and even Chelsea. While all of these wonderful women have had their own season in his life — some, even more than one! — one of them has to be the love of Nick’s life, right? Soap Opera Digest posed that question to Nick’s portrayer, Joshua Morrow… and the actor wasn’t quite sure how to answer!
“That’s asking me to step on a land mine,” Morrow quipped. “I recently started my 29th year on Y&R and Nick has been with Sharon half of those years and Phyllis for the other half, so I just can’t say one.”
As Morrow sees things, Sharon and Phyllis each represent a different kind of love for Nick. “Nick and Sharon were each other’s first love that started in a really beautiful, innocent way,” he explained. “They were just two kids falling for each other. They’ve been through so much and there’s no question that they will always love each other. If the powers-that-be decide that Nick and Sharon should be together, there you have it, but I cannot discount what Nick and Phyllis shared.”
By comparison, Nick’s romance with Phyllis was a different kind of fiery passion. “It was an incredible relationship and completely unlike what he had with Sharon, but it’s not any less impactful,” he noted. “Nick and Phyllis are crazy about each other and they’ve got this electricity between them that is rare. Their relationship came out of nowhere and shocked everyone and for some reason, they get each other.”
To pick one over the other would be like asking which child is Nick’s favorite! “I could never say which one I prefer over the other,” Morrow insisted. “They are both part of my life and more importantly, a huge part of Nick’s life.”
Morrow does know who he considers the one that got away, however! “That would definitely be Avery,” the actor confessed of his alter ego’s short-lived romance with Phyllis’ sister. “That relationship was really trending in a great direction. Nick really wanted to be with her, and I wish they would bring Avery back to inject some energy into that part of his life. I think that relationship really worked and added an extra layer with Nick and Phyllis.”
There you have it! Sounds like Nick has not one, but two loves of his life!
