An AMERICAN IDOL Joins Y&R!

There’s a new Mob princess headed to Genoa City, and she’ll be played by AMERICAN IDOL runner-up Diana DeGarmo! TV Guide reports that DeGarmo — who also appeared on Broadway in Hairspray and Hair and in the national tour of 9 To 5: The Musical following her 2004 IDOL run — has been cast in the contract role of Jersey Girl Angelina, the daughter of Mob boss Angelo. The actress/singer reports to the Y&R set next week to begin taping and will hit the screen on Monday, October 31.
