Kyle Lowder Announces His Wild New Role as the Face of Dr. Pepper! (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

Soap fans know Kyle Lowder for his roles as DAYS OF OUR LIVES’ Brady Black and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Rick Forrester, but the actor will be in living rooms everywhere now that he has signed a two-year deal to be the new face of Dr. Pepper!

“I’m very excited about it,” Lowder tells Soaps In Depth of his new role as “CraveRider,” the wacky jet-ski riding Dr. Pepper pitchman. “It’s a really, really funny campaign. I have a crazy wardrobe: brightly colored Dr. Pepper wet suit, riding this custom jet ski in a crazy, bleach-blonde wig. And the spots are really hilarious.

“He’s this weathered, stuck-in-the-‘80s jet ski rider who rides all over the world and delivers Dr. Pepper to people who are having a craving for it,” Lowder says of his alter ego. “But in the most random spots. It’s just a really comical, off-the-wall, highly special effects type thing.”

The big budget ad campaign was a new experience for Lowder, who traveled to England to film the spots! “I felt like I was shooting a movie,” he confides. “We shot at Pinewood Studios, which is a legendary studio lot outside of London where everything from Star Wars to Harry Potter to James Bond are done.

“Just being on those soundstages and working with these people was really intimidating at first,” he adds, “ but everybody was awesome and I had a great time.”
