Y&R’s Kristoff St. John Thanks Everyone For Their Love and Support

Last month, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Kristoff St. John was reportedly hospitalized and placed under psychiatric evaluation after allegedly threatening to kill himself. His ex-wife, Mia St. John, was quick to reassure fans not to believe the wild stories flying around the internet and now, the actor has posted his new Twitter profile pic of himself with a big smile on his face. “To all my friends and fans,” he shared. “Thank you for all of your recent support and love.”

A week following the initial news of his hospitalization, St. John has made his first social media post since the incident. “Fall seven times, rise eight,” the actor tweeted. “Life begins now.” He also included a passage that explains the saying about rising again and leaving your setbacks and adversity behind.

Shortly after the reports of St. John’s hospitalization began circulating, Mia made a statement to Entertainment Tonight in an attempt to explain exactly what her ex-husband is going through. “I want the world to know the truth about what is happening with Kristoff,” she declared, “because currently there is inaccurate and fabricated information being reported by certain online outlets. The death of our beloved son, Julian, has taken a toll on both of us. He is an actor and while he may appear whole on the outside, his heart is broken. As a society, we need to start taking mental health seriously and realize that no one is immune.
“Last week, an incident occurred that pushed him to the breaking point, but was not accurately reported,” she added. “I hope that at this moment we can all wrap our arms around Kristoff and help him in this time of need. Help him heal and move forward. This is not a ‘gossip’ story or an interesting headline, this is a man trying to deal with a tragedy that has torn apart his soul. Right now what he needs is your thoughts and prayers.”

According to TMZ, law enforcement officials claimed an ex of St. John’s called the police after the actor had sent her photos showing himself holding a gun to his head. The cops arrived and confiscated two guns and placed St. John under a 72-hour hold for evaluation. Originally, TMZ had reported that Mia St. John was the ex, but has since updated their story. When the report was posted online, Mia tweeted: “You better recant this story now, TMZ! Lies!“
It has been nearly three years since Kristoff and Mia’s son, Julian, took his own life while in the care of a mental health facility on Nov. 23, 2014. His parents have not only opened up an investigation into the inadequate care their child received at that facility but have dedicated their lives to helping to bring awareness and understanding to the stigma of mental health issues.
“Everyone has their struggles in life,” Mia tweeted recently. “We need to eliminate the shame in those that are suffering.” A recent tweet from Kristoff also called for support for mental health awareness and he shared an inspirational message on his Instagram page.
Our thoughts continue to be with St. John and his friends and family during this difficult time.
