THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ David Lago Stars in ‘Superman: The Musical’
David Lago (ex-Raul, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) is going to be flying high in his new role as The Man of Steel himself in a new production of Superman: The Musical!
The classic musical was originally produced on Broadway in the 60s and is written by the composers of Bye Bye Birdie. “It is a campy, silly, larger-than-life poke at the iconic Man of Steel,” Lago tells Soaps In Depth. “I’m playing Clark Kent/Superman, originally played by Bob Holliday on Broadway.”
The show is directed by Kristopher Kyer, who Lago reveals was his very first acting coach when he started out at the age of 15. “He’s an acting acrobat,” the Y&R alum declares, “a musical theater genius and insanely fun to watch. It’s a full-circle sort of thing, working with him. Without his help, there is no way in hell I’d be able to do this. No way.”
Superman: The Musical is playing at the Grove Theatre in Upland, CA, from Friday, April 22, through Sunday, May 8. Click here for more information and tickets! And for more on your favorite Y&R stars, keep reading the CBS edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
