DAYS OF OUR LIVES Star Camila Banus Is Engaged!
Just in time for Christmas, DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Camila Banus (Gabi) got some extra bling for her finger! Currently in her hometown of Miami to celebrate the holidays, the actress got engaged over the weekend to Marlon Aquino. “I said yes!” Banus announced on Instagram. “I just got engaged!”
The DAYS star also posted an Instagram Live video, sharing details of the surprise proposal. Sitting at an open-air restaurant surrounded by friends and family, an exuberant Banus proclaimed, “I said yes! Oh my god, you guys, I am engaged! Marlon just proposed!”
Sitting next to his new fiancée, Aquino joked that it was “about time” he popped the question to his longtime girlfriend. “Everybody, they were telling me, ‘When are you going to propose?’” he shared.
The moment he popped the question was one that Banus will forever remember. Aquino took her to “one of my favorite places,” the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and “got down on one knee,” she gushed. “There were tears in his eyes. It was such a surprise.”
When Banus briefly took off her custom-designed gold engagement ring to give her fans a closer look, her husband-to-be warned her not lose the bauble. As it turns out, in a soap-worthy plot twist, Aquino almost didn’t have the ring in time for his big proposal plan!
The actor explained that he received a call last Wednesday from the jeweler he’d commissioned to design the ring that there had been a mishap and he would have to start over from scratch. Which wouldn’t have been a problem if the couple weren’t slated to leave that Friday morning! “He’s like… ‘I’m going to try to have it done for you tomorrow night, Thursday night. But if not, send me the address because I might need to ship it to you,’” Aquino recalled. “And I was like, ‘Oh, man, I would really rather you gave that to me.’”
Luckily, it all worked out in the end and Aquino was able to pull off a perfect proposal for his bride-to-be! “You guys, I’m going to be Marlon’s wife!” Banus squealed.
