Deadline is reporting that Flynn has been cast in a recurring guest role that has the potential to become more regular and will first appear in the second episode of the series’ 12th season airing on Wednesday, Jan. 24. His character, Jake Gibson, is a former amateur boxer who naturally has some skeletons in his closet.
Flynn made his daytime debut back in 2015 when he stepped into the role of B&B’s newly-aged Zende Forrester and won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2018 for his work on the soap..
After his exit in 2017, the actor found success in primetime, with roles on THE HAVE AND THE HAVE NOTES, HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, and WITH LOVE. He also appeared in episodes of series like THE ROOKIE and GREY’S ANATOMY as well as in movies like A Madea Family Funeral, A Christmas Duet, and Fantasy Football.
CHICAGO FIRE’s season premiere will air on Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 9. p.m. along with the season premieres of sister shows CHICAGO MED and CHICAGO P.D. (before and after CHICAGO FIRE respectively). It will also begin streaming the following day on Peacock if you miss the live airing. So you’ll have plenty of chances to see Flynn in his exciting new role!
