B&B Stars Rally to Support a Dear Friend’s Cancer Battle
The daytime community is like a tight-knit family, always happy to help when needed. So THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL family has come together to help their dear friend Eva Basler Demirjian, who had to be placed in a medically-induced coma as she battles cancer. Demirjian has been the public relations coordinator for the soap for the past 13 years.
“If you follow the show and read about any of us actors or our stories or our lives, it’s because of her,” Rena Sofer (ex-Quinn) shared on Instagram. “You can never walk away from Eva or get off the phone with her without her speaking her favorite phrase, ‘Love and light.’ That’s what she believed in in all of us!
“I have never met a kinder woman or a more gracious soul on this earth,” she continued. “Right now, she is in a medically-induced coma and fighting with all her heart for her life. She is the proudest mother of four incredible kids that she sees as ‘blessings.’”
Laurette McCook, wife of B&B star John McCook (Eric), has organized a GoFundMe to help with the expenses as the numerous medical bills pile up. In early March, Demirjian had pain in her back and chest that led to a CT scan that revealed a large tumor behind her heart. After a series of bronchoscopies, the tumor in one lung had her essentially functioning with one lung.
Unfortunately, when the time came for her to begin chemo and immunotherapy, Demirjian’s oxygen levels were too low and she was moved to the ICU where she was placed on a ventilator and in a medically-induced coma. Thankfully, as of May 17, McCook updated that Demirijan is awake and off the ventilator, but still in the ICU and in critical condition. Doctors hope to start chemo in the next week.
Fans and friends have already started donating, including B&B stars like Jennifer Gareis (Donna), Krista Allen (Taylor), and Don Diamont (Bill), among many others. If you would like to help support their dear friend as she battles cancer, you can do so at the GoFundMe link above.
