Brooke & Taylor: B&B’s Next Supercouple?
Miley Cyrus isn’t the only woman in Los Angeles who can buy herself flowers: So can THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Brooke and Taylor! Not too long ago, the two women came to the realization that they are collectively much better off without Ridge than either one of them is with him. When the ladies gave the man they’ve spent the better part of 30 years fighting over the heave-ho, the unexpected plot twist unlocked loads of new storyline for portrayers Krista Allen and Katherine Kelly Lang as their respective alter egos, Taylor and Brooke, have — gasp! — become quite good friends!
“It’s all because of Ridge,” Allen laughed when she and Lang appeared on BOLD LIVE, the YouTube show hosted by B&B supervising producer Casey Kasprzyk. “I’m having so much fun.”
Lang added that she, too, is having a blast with the new turn in Brooke and Taylor’s relationship. “When was the last time Brooke had a friend?” the B&B vet chuckled. “Oh my gosh, a long time, for sure. So, it’s nice for Brooke to have a friend in Taylor. We’re having fun. Krista makes me laugh all the time.”
While the audience has generally loved seeing Brooke and Taylor’s growing bond, Lang revealed that there have been a few viewers who cautioned that the friendship has formed too quickly. “But I don’t think so,” she insisted, declaring that Brooke and Taylor have “known each other forever and gone through so much together. There were times [in the past] when we would come together and understand each other and become friends… but it didn’t last long. I’m hoping this lasts longer.”
Allen suspected that this time around, Brooke and Taylor’s friendship will go the distance. “It’s coming from such a deep level with both of us,” she explained. “It was the putting ourselves first that we both realized we had been against each other for so long and Ridge was right in the middle. And we were both looking at each other going, ‘Wait a second, maybe we’re not the problem.’”
Some fans even suspect that maybe the friendship could turn into something more romantic for the leading ladies! “Who knows if it would go there or not,” Lang laughed. But in the meantime, both she and Allen are satisfied with where things stand with Brooke and Taylor. “When all of this happened, we finally saw each other as women instead of rivals,” said Allen, while Lang agreed that their characters “finally realized we have more in common than we ever thought.”
