Lawrence Saint-Victor Previews Carter and Katie’s Future on B&B

It was January 2013 when Lawrence Saint-Victor debuted as Carter Walton on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, making this his 10th anniversary with the CBS soap! Over those years, Carter has been tremendously unlucky in love but things could be about to change with his budding new romance with Katie.

Carter and Katie hit it off when they offered each other shoulders to lean on during their relationship dramas with Quinn and Bill, respectively. Although nothing actually came of it beyond friendship because Carter eventually wound up with Quinn. But after she broke his heart and left town, Carter found himself once again drawn to Katie, a woman like he’s never known before.

“I think this is Carter’s first mature relationship,” Saint-Victor mused during an appearance on THE TALK celebrating his anniversary. “Before, he was either fighting to keep someone or it was forbidden. But here you have two mature adults who have this emotional connection and there’s no drama as far as… nothing keeping them apart. So we’ll see. We’ll see how it works.”

Of course, Saint-Victor isn’t just an actor on B&B, he is also a writer, having penned scripts for over two dozen episodes. And while he doesn’t have any real say in how his character’s storyline progresses, he’s grateful to headwriter and executive producer Bradley Bell for taking him under his wing. 

“We hit it off from the first day we met just talking about story,” the actor/writer/producer confided. “And I’ve been a fan of B&B since I was a child. My aunt would put it on. She’d shut off the cartons and say, ‘We’re watching B&B.’ So we hit it off. And he invited me into the writers room. He invited me in and he has nurtured me and has been a wonderful mentor. And I get to play on both sides. It’s been great.”
