What Happened to Massimo on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL
Massimo Marone was on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL for years, but that was over a decade ago, so if you need a refresher on all the drama he got into during that time, we’re happy to help! The character first appeared in August 2001 and was played by the late Joseph Mascolo until his exit in July 2006. Sadly, as the actor has passed away in real life, it’s unlikely Massimo will ever return to B&B.
Shipping magnate Massimo Marone went to college with Eric Forrester and Stephanie Douglas, who later got married. He remained a close confidante of Stephanie’s over the years, however, and after Ridge Forrester was in an accident, blood tests revealed that there was no way Eric could be his father. Stephanie was stunned, and she and Massimo realized he must be Ridge’s real dad. He agreed to help her keep it a secret, but it naturally came out and Massimo was happy that while initially upset, Ridge soon turned to him as a father.
Massimo was later thrilled to learn he had another grown son, Nick Marone, from an affair he’d had with Jackie Payne. As he got to know Nick, Massimo rekindled things with Jackie and they married. Unfortunately, both of his sons fell in love with Brooke, and when she chose Ridge, he turned his back on Massimo. Already blaming Jackie for Ridge’s choice, when she had an affair, it proved too much strain and Massimo suffered a debilitating attack that left him confined to a wheelchair and unable to speak. He was forced to watch Deacon Sharpe try to steal Jackie away from him.
After recovering and making sure Deacon fell off the wagon, Massimo won Jackie back and they remarried. However, it didn’t last long and he soon turned to Stephanie, helping her discover she was the rightful owner of Forrester Creations. He wondered if they could possibly have a future together, but nothing ever came of it. He bribed Forrester secretary Megan Conley to help him frame Jackie for tax fraud and money laundering, which led to his removal as CEO of Marone Industries. After he and Stephanie failed to stop Brooke and Nick from tying the knot, Massimo disappeared from the canvas and hasn’t been seen since. But he’s often mentioned whenever anyone wants to remind Ridge that he’s not a real Forrester!
