Matthew Atkinson Reveals How Thomas Really Feels About Hope on B&B
Thomas and Hope’s relationship status on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL is… complicated, to say the least! Given their past, is there any way these two can have a future together?
Thomas’ obsession with Hope caused him to manipulate her into marrying him while he was keeping the secret that her and Liam’s daughter, Beth, was still alive and being raised by Steffy. And when he turned to a mannequin that closely resembled Hope, it was revealed that he was suffering from a brain injury. After Thomas had undergone surgery, he mostly turned over a new leaf… aside from framing Brooke for calling CPS on him!
However, in recent months, Thomas has made great strides towards putting his life back together and has been able to work together with Hope on her fashion line to much success. And when she finally kissed him and they slept together, he thought he’d hit the jackpot! However, she is still connected to Liam, and for once, Thomas seems to be doing the right thing.
“Thomas has actually gotten into a place of loving Hope and wanting what’s best for her,” Matthew Atkinson explained in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest of his alter ego’s feelings. “And seeing the situation with Liam, the fact that they have a child together, if it’s the best thing for the kids and the best thing for both of them, then he genuinely wants that for her.
“But that doesn’t remove his desire for her or his love for her,” he continued. “He has a passion for her and would love for them to be together.”
But while Thomas has declared his love for Hope, she can’t return those feelings and instead seems to want to keep their relationship physical. “He didn’t ask for Hope to take their relationship to a very extreme and romantic level,” Atkinson admitted, “and it’s very hard to remove yourself from that, because feelings pop up and those feelings don’t go away easily.”
