Inside the Y&R 50th Anniversary Cast Photo!
In preparation for THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ 50th anniversary coming up on March 26, the soap’s cast members gathered for a glamorous group photo! With the men all dressed in snazzy tuxedos and the women decked out in glittery formal dresses, the 36 actors who play Genoa City’s beloved citizens posed in front of a golden backdrop in honor of the soap’s golden anniversary.
After the official portrait was released on Jan. 26, many Y&R cast members shared the beautiful image on social media, as well as their own personal videos and behind-the-scenes pictures from the day of the photoshoot. “This show changed the course of my life 20 years ago and I’m so honored and grateful to be a part of its legacy,” Greg Rikaart (Kevin) wrote in an Instagram story.
“Happy 50th Anniversary, Y&R,” said Tracey E. Bregman, who recently celebrated 40 years of playing Lauren Fenmore on the soap. “I am honored to be a part of such an extraordinary show.” Added Courtney Hope (Sally) in a post of her own, “To say I’m grateful is an understatement.”
Brytni Sarpy (Elena) shared a behind-the-scenes video from the day of the shoot, writing “Happy Golden anniversary to my stage 41 and stage 43 family… a milestone very few are great enough to achieve. This is… television history.”
In the video, several of the soap’s stars shared their feelings about the monumental achievement, such as Bryton James (Devon), who said, “Half a century of bringing joy to people’s lives is a great thing to celebrate.”
Added Michelle Stafford (Phyllis), “That’s a pretty good-looking group. At the end of the day, these are my friends. We love each other so much.” Jason Thompson (Billy) echoed his co-star’s thoughts, saying, “Seeing everybody in one spot, you realize what a big family you’re a part of.”
Perhaps Y&R icon Eric Braeden (Victor) said it best at the end of the video, declaring, “I consider myself to be extraordinarily fortunate.”
