Melissa Ordway Shares an Epic Day at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
Viewers love watching their favorite characters get mixed up in all kinds of drama on their favorite soaps, but rarely get a peek behind the scenes. So as a special holiday treat, Melissa Ordway (Abby) took fans with her on a rather unique day at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
“Come along with me for an epic day with my Y&R family!” she enthused. “Filming, shopping for the NAACP toy drive, and then a screening of Eileen Davidson’s (Ashley) new Christmas movie (which was such a wonderful movie and she did a fantastic job)… and a little pit stop on the lot at the FRIENDS fountain!”
Kicking off her video as she walked through the parking lot at the studio and then headed to hair and makeup, Ordway then walked onto the set. “Who am I gonna work with today?” she wondered aloud to the camera. And once she arrived at Society, she was excited to see stage manager Fritz Brekeller and co-star Vail Bloom (Heather).
Then it was off to Big Lots with some of her co-stars to pick up toys that will be distributed to families in need this holiday season as part of Y&R’s annual toy drive. “We’re all being little elves and shopping,” she smiled before pointing out “the amazing Michelle Stafford (Phyllis),” who organizes the event every year.
The day wrapped up with a special screening of Holiday in the Vineyards, a new holiday movie featuring Davidson, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL’s Annika Noelle (Hope), and GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Josh Swickard (Chase). And since the theater was on the Warner Bros. lot, Ordway and her pals later all took a trip over to the fountain and couch made famous in the opening credits of FRIENDS!
Phew! Thank goodness every day isn’t that full!
