Mishael Morgan Is Back on Set at THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!
Please join us in welcoming Mishael Morgan back to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! The actress is back in the studio to resume working as Amanda on the soap and couldn’t be more excited. “First day back and it’s like riding a bike!” she exclaimed on Instagram, sharing a selfie of herself in her dressing room.
Back on March 18, Morgan shared a selfie showing off her “new sexy pirate look” following emergency surgery due to suffering a detached retina. By April 7, she reported that while her vision was still blurry, she was healing and well on the road to recovery. But since Amanda is a high-powered attorney and not a pirate, the soap opted to temporarily recast the role with THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL alum Karla Mosley (ex-Maya) for a short time.
Mosley was scheduled to make her first appearance on Monday, April 26, but with the preemption on April 19, that will now happen on Tuesday, April 27. “Could I have bigger, more beautiful shoes to step into?” Mosley tweeted when news of the temporary recast was made public. “So grateful to visit Genoa City for a few weeks. But fear not, the incredible Mishael Morgan is on the mend and will be back soon! Thank you for such a warm welcome.”
Morgan was also grateful for Mosley taking over for a short time in order to keep telling Amanda’s story on Y&R as she gets to know her biological family while defending her grandfather from murder. “I am so grateful this beautiful and talented woman stepped in for me on such short notice and allowed me time to heal,” Morgan shared on Twitter. “I can’t wait to be back, but it comforts me to know Amanda is in such great hands.”
Given that Morgan is back on set on April 22, and Mosley has said she’s only playing Amanda for a few weeks, viewers can expect to see Morgan back as Amanda sometime in mid-May. So keep watching Y&R to see how Amanda’s storyline continues to play out!
