Mishael Morgan Wants Your Help Picking Her Next Role

Tags:

Fans of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS were stunned when Mishael Morgan announced that she was taking “a step back” from the soap to explore new career opportunities and mix things up a bit. And while she has promised that she will continue to make occasional appearances in Genoa City, it’s time to look forward and she took to social media to ask for some suggestions.

“What would you like to see me in next?” she posted to Instagram with a lovely selfie taken at home. “Everyone keeps asking what’s my next dream role, but honestly, I don’t want to limit my next chapter. Just curious what you all would like to see me do next?” She then added the hashtags “#nolimits,” “#mynextrole,” “#opinionswelcomed,” and “#findingmystory.”

While some of the comments on her post naturally want to see her do Y&R as well as primetime and movies, plenty wanted to see her in an action movie like a Marvel super hero adventure or as a Bond girl. When one fan declared they could see Morgan in one of Shonda Rhimes’ productions, the actress responded: “That would be amazing!”

Other fans suggested rom-com movies, Hallmark movies, and Christmas movies, with some specifying Hallmark Christmas movies! “That seems to be a top contender on this thread,” Morgan replied. Many other soap stars like Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan, GENERAL HOSPITAL) and Hunter King (ex-Summer, Y&R) have found success in Hallmark movies, so why not?

Morgan’s career began with roles in primetime series like THE BEST YEARS, FAMILY BIZ, and REPUBLIC OF DOYLE and appearances on shows like TOTAL RECALL, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, and SUPERNATURAL. She joined the cast of Y&R as Hilary Curtis in June 2013 and announced her departure in June 2018. However, she made a surprise return to the soap in September 2019 as Hilary’s previously-unknown twin sister, Amanda Sinclair. And it was that run that earned her a history-making Outstanding Lead Actress trophy at the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards.

During her tenure on Y&R, Morgan managed to moonlight with a role in the 2018 UP TV movie Hometown Holiday, so maybe now that she’s got more time, she can graduate to starring in a romantic holiday film! And be sure to comment on her Instagram post with your own suggestions on what you’d like to see the talented performer in next!
