Please join us in congratulating Mishael Morgan on receiving the Award of Excellence in Acting at the inaugural edition of the Canadian Black Screen Awards! The ceremony will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17, in Toronto and will honor the achievements of Black Canadian artists, performers, filmmakers, and other members of the entertainment community.

“Thank you for this honour!” Morgan declared on Instagram as she shared the news of the awards ceremony. In addition, Sway, the movie that Morgan recently starred in an executive produced, will be receiving the award for Best Film, adding to its previous Jury Prize at the Toronto International Hollywood Film Festival.

Morgan joined the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS back in 2013 as Hilary Curtis and after her character was killed off in 2018, returned in 2019 as her previously-unknown twin sister, Amanda Sinclair. Although she took a step back from the soap in 2022, the actress has returned for the occasional visit, and is set to return to Genoa City again very soon.

Morgan is no stranger to awards ceremonies, either, having been nominated twice for Outstanding Supporting Actress at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2018 and 2019. Her 2022 win for Outstanding Lead Actress made her the first Black actress to win that trophy in the history of the awards.

Among those congratulating Morgan on her achievement in the comments of her social media post were fans and friends, including Y&R’s Kelly Kruger (ex-Mac) and Brytni Sarpy (Elena) as well as GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Anthony Montgomery (ex-Andre). Please join them — and us — in also applauding her win!
