Ever since Rey Rosales showed up, he’d been talking about his estranged wife, and she eventually arrived in Genoa City to stake her claim on her hubby! Noemi Gonzalez made her debut as Mia in the Nov. 12, 2018 episode of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. “Yes!” tweeted Jordi Vilasuso (Rey) when the news broke online. “Welcome to Genoa City, Noemi!” However, Mia’s troublemaking has come to an abrupt end when Gonzalez announced her exit from the soap in May 2019.
Rey wasn’t particularly forthcoming with details of his personal life when he first came to Genoa City, but it was clear that things between him and Mia were not good and hadn’t been for a while. When she first arrived in town she quickly acted as though everything was wonderful as Rey’s behavior made it clear things definitely weren’t. Noticing how close her husband and Sharon Newman had become, Mia quickly made it clear to the blonde that she should back off because Rey is a married man. Rey’s brother, Arturo Rosales, also didn’t seem particularly thrilled to see Mia, and at the Jaboutique party, Abby was stunned to overhear why — he and Mia had slept together!
Mia continued to settle into Genoa City society, using her talents as a makeup artist to get in good with folks like Nikki Newman. But even as she made a big show of fawning all over Rey and seeming to want to repair their marriage, Mia still had some lingering feelings for Arturo complicating things. Even after she and Rey renewed their vows, she called out Arturo’s name during sex, which caused her hubby to walk out on her! Furious at Abby Newman, Mia attacked her, not realizing that the woman wearing Abby’s coat she hit and knocked into the pool was actually her sister-in-law, Lola Rosales! Then, when Rey put the clues together and tried to arrest her, Mia claimed she was pregnant with his baby. But after using her fake pregnancy to try and ruin things for Rey and Sharon, Mia was shocked to discover that she was actually with child!
Attempts to use the baby to win back Rey failed when he learned of her affair with Arturo and questioned who was the real babydaddy. A DNA test revealed Arturo was the father, so he and Mia made plans to move back to Miami together. Rey was able to intercede with Paul to avoid having charges pressed against Mia for the assault on Lola, and she was able to leave town with Arturo to start their family.
