AS THE WORLD TURNS’ Trent Dawson Joins THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL
Soap fans know Trent Dawson can be hilariously funny and dramatic all at the same time from his popular run as Henry Coleman on AS THE WORLD TURNS and his brief stint as Huxley Lynch on GENERAL HOSPITAL. But now everyone else will know, too, as the actor is making a guest appearance on the Amazon series THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL! “My office for today,” Dawson teased with a shot of a director’s chair stamped with the show’s logo on set in Brooklyn, NY.
The period comedy/drama, created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, centers around Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan), a NYC housewife in 1958 who discovers that she has a talent for stand-up comedy. The supporting cast includes Alex Borstein, Tony Shalhoub, and Kevin Pollack. It premiered in 2017, and the third season will be premiering on Amazon Prime on Friday, Dec. 6.
Dawson is appearing in the seventh episode of season three in the role of Scott, but hasn’t revealed any further information about his character or how he’ll be involved in the plot of the show. The actor only teased that he’d be in scenes with Midge via a selfie taken on the set with the series’ star. “Making memories with Midge in a dark and grainy studio,” he joked. “Whew — long day. Gotta get my sea legs back.”
Dawson got his big break back in 1998 when he joined the cast of ATWT, where he remained until the soap’s cancelation in 2010. He then went on to make appearances in primetime shows like THE GOOD WIFE, HOMELAND, NCIS, and CASTLE before his stint on GH in 2016 and 2017. More recently, Dawson kept busy turning his play, The F, into a short film and appearing on stage in A Man for All Seasons in 2018.
But now you can see Dawson back on TV again when THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL drops its third season on Amazon Prime at the beginning of December. Let’s just hope we don’t have to wait so long to see him again in the future!
