Secrets of Soap Opera Music Revealed!

Anyone interested in the music heard daily on soaps is not going to want to miss a special chat with music directors Jill Chastain and Gary Deinstadt in The Locher Room on Thursday, May 27, at 3 p.m. ET at this YouTube link!

Chastain was the supervising music producer for all the Procter & Gamble shows beginning with THE EDGE OF NIGHT and SEARCH FOR TOMORROW in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. She hired Deinstadt as one of her music directors for AS THE WORLD TURNS where he worked from 1994 through 2000 when he moved over to sister soap GUIDING LIGHT. They were in charge of selecting and editing music from a staff of composers as well as composing and performing works of their own over the years. So this promises to be a fascinating look at a side of soap opera production that isn’t often covered! Don’t miss it!
