DAYS OF OUR LIVES Alum Freddie Smith Married Alyssa Tabit!
Congratulations are in order for DAYS OF OUR LIVES alum Freddie Smith (ex-Sonny) and his longtime love, Alyssa Tabit! The couple ended 2020 by exchanging vows on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31! The newlyweds virtually eloped at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World, as their family and friends watched a live stream of the ceremony.
“We did it!” the couple wrote on their YouTube page. “We are officially Mr. and Mrs. Smith! During such uncertain times, the one thing we are certain of is our love for one another. Thank you for sharing such a magical day with us. We love you all so much!”
After making the announcement that they were officially married, Mrs. Smith shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos to her Instagram Stories, like getting ready with the couple’s dog, Benji, how she hid her wedding dress from the groom inside their shared hotel suite, and her glam Badgley Mischka shoes for her New Year’s Eve nuptials.
After the ceremony, the bride continued in her Instagram stories. She “did a virtual father/daughter dance with my Pops to our song, ‘Unforgettable,’ as the sun was setting,” she shared. And the newlyweds’ first dance as a married couple was to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud,” revealed Mrs. Smith. “After our car accident in 2014, Freddie had to go back to L.A. for work while I was in the hospital in Ohio,” she wrote. “He called me on his way home one evening, misty-eyed, saying he heard this song and that it was the perfect representation of our love… And that one day, we would dance to it at our wedding. It was a wildly full-circle moment.”
Tabit also revealed that Dec. 31 has a special meaning for her and her new husband, aside from it being New Year’s Eve. “My Grams and late Gramps share the same wedding date as Freddie and I,” she shared in an Instagram Story the day after the wedding. “Sporting Grammy’s purse in their honor.”
The former DAYS star and Tabit relocated to Florida — where she was raised — this past fall. In one episode of their popular YouTube podcast, The Freddie & Alyssa Show, the newlyweds revealed that their move to South Florida was the 15th time they’ve moved in 15 years! Wow!
