Brandon Barash Opens Up About his Fiancée, Isabella Devoto

Before the end of 2022, Brandon Barash (Jake, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) will make Isabella Devoto his wife — and the actor has his matchmaker daughter, Harper, to thank for the love connection!

In a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, Barash explained that “before the year is over,” he will exchange vows with his girlfriend, whom he met when Isa was Harper’s Spanish teacher in summer camp a few years back.

“She and Harper basically fell in love before we did,” the DAYS star admitted of his daughter and fiancée. “They hit it off really well, spent a lot of time together after summer camp, and developed a very special relationship.”

That special friendship between Isa and Harper, Barash added, made things monumentally easier for him to pursue a romantic relationship with Devoto. “Being a public person, you always have to keep your guard up about people you’re dating. Do they have pure intentions? Do they love my daughter because they genuinely love my daughter, or do they love my daughter because they’re trying to impress me? There was never any bull with Isa. We dated each other for over two years and there were never any red flags. She has always been very real, and she comes from a great family.”

While dad dating your teacher might make some kids wary, Harper was rooting for the couple from the beginning. “Harper has been begging me, pretty much since Isa and I told her we were in a relationship, to make Isa her stepmom,” he confessed. “We’d be together in the car, and she’d be like, ‘Daddy, do you love Isa?’ I’d say, ‘Yeah, more than anything.’ She’d say, ‘Well, Daddy, you need to put a ring on it.’”

Thankfully, Harper’s mom — GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) — is also excited for Barash’s fiancée to join the family. Barash and his ex-wife have made co-parenting Harper their top priority, and he says that “it makes life a lot easier” that Storms and Devoto get along so well. “There’s really nothing to dislike about Isa,” he said. “She’s always very deferential and respectful with Kirsten and never tries to step on her toes. She’s even told Kirsten, ‘I never, ever would want to replace you. I want to have a relationship with Harper, but she only has one mother, and I’m aware of that.’”

It sounds like Barash, Devoto, and Storms have found a way to make their blended family work and we wish nothing but the best for the future Mr. and Mrs. Barash!
