Just a couple of days after sharing the frightening health crisis he experienced while on vacation with his sons, DAYS OF OUR LIVES star Greg Vaughan (Eric) shared an update on how he’s feeling now. On March 15, the actor revealed that he had fallen ill on a ski trip with his boys in Colorado and a trip to urgent care revealed that he had fluid in his lungs and a dangerously low blood oxygen level.

“Basically, my situation was a high-altitude pulmonary edema,” Vaughan explained in a selfie video he shot at home. “And so with some good friends’ doctors that have reached out to me and kind of gave me some understanding on the aftermath which was very beneficial. I’ve been resting, taking care of myself… even though I live in a hamster wheel. I gotta get up and do my normal domesticated stuff eventually. I’m tired of lying down in this bed. But I am feeling much better.”

Vaughan, who also has numerous fans from his previous run as Lucky on GENERAL HOSPITAL, was overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from everyone around him, both personally and on social media. And he became very emotional when expressing his gratitude in his video.

“I just felt such an appreciation of gratitude for… everything,” he expressed, his voice catching. “Reaching out. Your prayers have been felt. It’s been a struggle, but I am over the top.

“Wherever you are, I love you,” Vaughan added. “And I appreciate you. Just the time and the thoughts that you’ve shared with me. I am on the uppity up. I didn’t realize that it would make such an impression on so many people around the world but I feel tremendously loved and I can’t say enough. And I’m good. Be safe out there, be well… there’s nothing gonna hold me down. We’re good. Take care of yourselves. Enjoy your spring break with your families.”
