Gavin Houston Opens up About His Return to GENERAL HOSPITAL
Fans were quite taken with Portia’s brother when he attended her wedding for a few episodes, so they were understandably delighted when Zeke returned to GENERAL HOSPITAL on June 5. And portrayer Gavin Houston was also thrilled to be back in Port Charles again!
“I always wanted to be on GH,” the actor confided to Soap Opera Digest. “I grew up watching it and always wanted to be a part of it. I’d been auditioning for different roles and got that one [as forensic analyst Sly in 2010], which was just for a few episodes. I was young and still new to California, so it was a great experience.”
Houston already had experience in soaps, having played Remy Boudreau on GUIDING LIGHT from 2002-05. And this trip back to GH reunited him with one of his former GL co-stars, Laura Wright (Carly), who played Cassie on the CBS sudser.
“It was amazing to see her again,” he enthused. “She was like, ‘You’re back! Yay!’ It’s so crazy because she knew me when I was probably 24 or 25 — and she’s exactly the same person! It was like we just continued right where we left off. We always got along so well and she’s so much fun.”
Viewers are getting to learn a little more about Zeke this time around as it turns out he’s a talented lawyer who has now been hired by Drew to represent him in his insider trading case against the SEC. And of course, as soon as the handsome attorney set foot in town he ran into Jordan at the Metro Court pool bar and the two spent a steamy night together! Naturally, this got complicated when Jordan later learned that Zeke is Portia’s brother!
“I was hoping to come back and hoping that there would be more,” Houston admitted of his return to Port Charles. “And now there’s definitely more! I won’t say too much, but Zeke definitely has more to do. He’s gone into other realms, and it’s been really cool for me to see more of who he is.”
