Let Ryan Paevey Read You a Romantic Story!

It’s been a few years since Ryan Paevey exited GENERAL HOSPITAL as Nathan, but his fans have been able to still get their fill of the actor thanks to the Hallmark movies he’s starred in. And now, the handsome actor has a new project that will let his fans hear a whole new side of Paevey: On December 1, he will make his debut as an audiobook narrator in writer Karen Schaler’s new Audible Original story, Once Upon A Christmas Carol!

Schaler is an author of romance books and an Emmy-winning screenwriter who has penned four holiday films, including the Netflix hit A Christmas Prince. Earlier this year, she was asked by Audible to write the service’s only scripted, multi-cast original rom-com. As the author, Schaler was also involved in the casting process and when it came time to hire a voice actor to bring the book’s hero, Matt, to life, she immediately thought of Paevey, whom she had met over the summer at the RomaDrama Live convention!

“I met Ryan at an event we were both doing, and his voice is amazing,” Schaler shared on social media. “And I really loved the way he interacted with his fans. I knew his Hallmark fans would love seeing him in another Christmas story. But don’t worry, Ryan’s still doing an amazing Hallmark Christmas movie this year. And I can’t wait for you to hear him in Once Upon A Christmas Carol.”

Schaler immediately knew that she wanted Paevey to voice the hero of her Christmas audiobook.Instagram

In another post promoting the audiobook, Schaler wrote, “this story is magic, filled with music, humor, and lots of heart. I can’t wait to share it with you.” She later added in the comments that Paevey’s “voice is undeniable and I knew he could bring the humor and a heart to Once Upon A Christmas Carol.”

The book also features Brittany Pressley, a popular audio narrator who has won several Audie Awards, the Audio Publishers Association’s equivalent of an Emmy. In Once Upon A Christmas Carol, Pressley voices Rachel, a singer dropped by her record label right before Christmas, threatening to end her music career. According to the Audible blurb for the story, Rachel then receives a mysterious Christmas card with lyrics to a classic Christmas carol inside, urging her to return home to Crystal Falls. It’s been 15 years since Rachel left the snowy mountain town — and her first love, Matt, now a devoted single dad. As Rachel continues to receive mysterious cards filled with Christmas carol lyrics and clues for her to follow, they all lead her back to Matt. Is someone in Crystal Falls trying to play matchmaker, or is it Christmas magic that keeps putting Matt and Rachel back in each other’s path? And will the music and majesty of the holiday season help Rachel discover where she truly belongs?

“Our story runs close to two hours, just like your favorite Christmas movies, but now you can enjoy anywhere, anytime,” shared Schaler in another post. “This story brings all the Christmas feels and yes, my plan is to also write the movie!”

We’re sure Paevey’s fans would love to see him in the movie version as well! Until then, Once Upon A Christmas Carol will be available for purchase exclusively on Audible starting Dec. 1, and is a free listen for members of Audible’s Plus service.
