Meet the Hairdresser Behind Finn’s Trim!
When GENERAL HOSPITAL needed a hairdresser to appear in a scene with Finn and Elizabeth, they kept it in the family and called in one of the soap’s behind-the-scenes crew members to do the job! That was Anzhela Adzhiyan holding the scissors and comb at the beginning of the Oct. 26 episode as Finn squeezed in a trim before his romantic weekend getaway with Elizabeth in Vermont.
On the official GH Instagram account, the soap shared a behind-the-scenes shot of Rebecca Herbst (Liz) and Michael Easton (Finn) posing with Adzhiyan on the set of Finn’s office. “Finn needed a trim and the head of our hair and makeup department was happy to oblige!” read the caption on the photo. “Please join us in a round of applause for Anzhela Adzhiyan’s on-air debut!”
In a second Instagram post, the soap shared a composite of Liz and Finn’s scenes from the episode, which you can watch above, starting with when the nurse walked into his office and was surprised to see that his hairdresser had made a hospital call. “Bad timing?” Liz asked her beau. As Finn kept lifting his head to look at his girlfriend, Adzhiyan hilariously kept pushing his head down so she could continue cutting his hair.
According to IMDb, Adzhiyan has been working on the soap since 2002, and has twice won a Daytime Emmy Award for her talents. In addition to her hairstyling mastery on the soap, Adzhiyan had also done work for the ABC sitcom THE GOLDBERGS.
