Laura Wright Reveals Her Wildest First Day on The Job!

Tags:

During her daytime career, Laura Wright has had more than a few different jobs. She started out playing Ally on LOVING, then moved that character over to THE CITY. Following that, she joined the cast of CBS sudser GUIDING LIGHT as Cassie, and finally took over the role of Carly on GENERAL HOSPITAL, which she continues to play to this day.

But out of all her gigs, it was her first day at GL that stands out to the actress, and that’s because of how the soap chose to introduce the character of Cassie Layne… as a stripper going by the name of “Shady Lane!”

“On my first day, I had to strop down, because Cassie had to do a striptease in a strip bar,” Wright confided to Soap Opera Digest. “The first time you see her, she’s stripping and I had to do a dance number and strip all the way down to a pair of tiny little bathing suit bottoms with just a cowboy hat covering my top. So that was probably the most interesting first day of work I’ve ever had!”

Even though she wasn’t going to be wearing a whole lot, Wright found herself dropping by the wardrobe department to pick up her costume and that’s when that first day got even more interesting! “I walked in and a guy I went to high school with and did theater with, whose name is Kevin Bergen, was standing there!” she exclaimed. “I was like, ‘Hey, what are you doing here?’ He was like, ‘I don’t know, I’m playing a patron in some bar where some girl is going to be stripping.’ I was like, ‘Oh, great. That would be me!’ It was so funny!”

Small world!
