Soap star Kamar de los Reyes, who starred as Antonio on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, has died at the age of 56. A spokesperson for the family confirmed the sad news to The Hollywood Reporter that the actor passed away on Christmas Eve following a brief battle with cancer.

Daytime fans will remember him best as OLTL detective Antonio Vega, a role he played from 1995 until 2009. He earned five ALMA Award nominations for his work on the soap, taking home the trophy in 2008.

The actor could also be seen in episodes of shows like ER, NEW YORK UNDERCOVER, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, LAW & ORDER, and CASTLE. De los Reyes also appeared as Jobe in SLEEPY HOLLOW, Ryan Caradine in THE ROOKIE, and his most recent role as Coach Montes on ALL AMERICAN.
