Adrian Korbel on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS — Everything You Need to Know
Adrian Korbel was a handsome art history professor on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS but you can be forgiven if you don’t remember much about him because it’s been years since he was in Genoa City. The character first appeared in September 2006 and was played by actor Eyal Podell until his exit in August 2008. Let us fill you in on his dramatic history on Y&R!
Adrian Korbell was introduced as Colleen Carlton‘s college professor and although they argued frequently, the pair had a one-night stand during an ice storm. Her father, Brad Carlton, didn’t trust the guy and hired J.T. Hellstrom to investigate Adrian. He began dating Amber Moore, but broke up with her once Colleen had split up with J.T. and was finally single. But Adrian and Colleen’s relationship was difficult because they were also teacher and student.
Colleen freaked out when she discovered evidence linking Adrian to the mysterious disappearance of Jana Hawkes and the murder of Carmen Mesta, but was kidnapped before she could do anything about it. Although Adrian was a prime suspect, it turned out Jana had actually kidnapped Colleen and attempted to kill her and Kevin Fisher, framing Adrian for the crime. Thankfully, J.T. and Adrian were able to rescue them in time.
Adrian feared the worst when the dean learned of his relationship with Colleen but refused to lie about it. Although the case was dropped, Adrian and Colleen decided to keep their relationship on the down-low. When Brad found out he was furious and interfered with Adrian’s job offer in Paris to keep his daughter from leaving town with him. Colleen and Adrian moved in together, and he wrote a book about her grandmother’s heroic efforts in World War II. But because the stories would expose Brad’s secret past and endanger their lives again, Colleen got nervous and Brad used his clout to stop its publication. Adrian angrily split up with Colleen and found some comfort in Amber’s bed.
A new job writing at Restless Style didn’t last very long and Adrian decided to leave the magazine and Genoa City behind. The last anyone heard from him was when he sent his condolences because he was unable to attend Colleen’s funeral.
