Kate Linder Charity Event Postponed Until Next Year

Unfortunately, the annual OpportuniTea event hosted by Kate Linder (Esther) and featuring some of her co-stars from THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS has had to be postponed. The gathering, the first to be held in person since 2019, will not take place until spring 2023.

Due to the steady increase in COVID hospitalizations in the country recently, March of Dimes Canada has made the difficult decision to postpone the event to late spring of next year. The tea was originally scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 11, but given the current situation, the health and safety of the guests, staff, and stars is more important than anything.

“My castmates and I were so looking forward to seeing everyone live and in person again next month,” Linder said in a statement, “but we understand the need for caution so that everyone stays healthy and happy and is able to enjoy a wonderful holiday season. We look forward to seeing you in late April or early May.”

Guests who have already purchased tickets to the event will be contacted and offered either a refund or the opportunity to transfer their ticket to the new date. The official date will be announced once arrangements have been confirmed with Linder and her Y&R co-stars who will be attending.
