Y&R Alum Michael Muhney Mourns the Death of His Beloved Grandmother
Please join us in sending love to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Michael Muhney (ex-Adam), who is mourning the death of his beloved grandmother, Priscilla Muhney, just one month shy of her 90th birthday. On Aug. 31, the actor asked fans for warm vibes after she’d been rushed to the hospital. “Grandma Muhney hopefully turns 90 on Sept. 26,” he tweeted. “She was rushed to hospital and surgery last night. Put out some warm vibes.”
Sadly, the following day, on Sept. 1, Muhney reported that his beloved grandmother had died. “Grandma Muhney has passed,” he wrote. “Would’ve been 90 later this month. A Cubs fan to the very end. She was pure love and joy. To know her was to know true kindness. A few weeks ago, we went out for a drive-in burger. Brought her this cardinal from California. I miss her already.”
The actor also shared some videos on social media of himself singing to Grandma Muhney, something he has been doing for years. “Ever since I was a tiny little boy I have been singing songs to my grandma,” he tweeted.
Y&R fans remember Muhney from his 2009-2014 run as Adam Newman on the soap, although some might also recall the actor from his role of Sheriff Don Lamb on the primetime series VERONICA MARS. In recent years, he could be seen in movies like The Track and Search Engines as well as TV series like THE GOOD DOCTOR and Apple TV+’s TRUTH BE TOLD.
