THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

Rory Gibson Is the New Noah on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS!

Noah Newman is returning to Genoa City as Rory Gibson joins the cast of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS in the role! The soap confirmed the latest recast of the role, revealing that Nick and Sharon’s son will be coming home again this fall, though not giving a specific date yet as to when his first episode will air.

Gibson will be making his daytime debut when he joins Y&R. His previous credits include the TV movies A Night to Regret and Twisted Twin as well as the films Grace and Severed Road. Two more films he’s appearing in, Watch Jessica Die and Breathe, are currently in post-production according to his IMDb page.

Nick and Sharon’s son, Noah, was born on-screen in 1997 and was played by a series of child actors before coming down with a case of SORAS and aging to a teen played by Kevin Schmidt in 2008. In 2010, the role was recast with Luke Kleintank, but Schmidt returned in 2011. Then, in 2012, the soap recast again with Robert Adamson taking over. In 2016, he dropped to recurring status with the soap and eventually departed in 2018, though he did make occasional appearances in the years since, most recently in 2020.

Noah hasn’t been seen on screen since November 2020 when he supported his mother as Sharon battled breast cancer (and tried to protect her from Adam, too!). But in 2021, the character’s name was mentioned multiple times as Victor discussed with Adam bringing Noah back to Genoa City — he currently resides in London — to work with them at Newman Media.

Is that job opportunity what brings Noah home again? Or could there be another reason for his return to the canvas? You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out! And keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for more updates, like when Gibson will make his debut!
