Tracey E. Bregman Previews Lauren’s Search for Michael on Y&R (EXCLUSIVE)
Lauren is worried about what happened to Michael on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS but she has no idea just how bad things could get! Still, Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren) admitted to Soaps In Depth that her alter ego was expecting something like this to happen. “She knew that when he went back to work for Victor that it wasn’t going to be as delightful as Michael and Victor were trying to tell her it was going to be,” she explained. “But she never expected that he would be sent to Peru. It was supposed to be just a very short trip and routine… and it became anything but that.”
Although it was Ashland that Michael was investigating when he disappeared, Lauren is focusing her attention on Victor, since he’s the one who sent her husband to the other side of the world where she fears something terrible has happened to him. “First, she’s trying to figure out if Victor is just not telling her what’s going on or if Victor has lost communication with him,” Bregman revealed. “She’s trying to gauge how much she needs to panic. But first, she needs to get answers.”
The actress insisted that Lauren would go “to the ends of the Earth” to get Michael back, but flying to Peru after him isn’t the best idea right now. “It was a thought for her but to be honest, when she’s there… she wouldn’t know what to do,” she allowed. “So she’s trying to do everything from Genoa City first.”
But with Kevin’s online search having hit nothing but brick walls and Victor himself keeping her in the dark, Lauren will definitely have her work cut out for her. But when it comes to the man she loves, nothing is going to stand in her way. “She and Victor go way back,” Bregman reminded. “He stepped up for her when her father died and put it up to the board to let her run Fenmore’s. So that’s a respect that she will never lose for him.
“That being said,” she added, “she’s pretty gutsy in the coming weeks towards him. But she’s gutsy because there’s trust. And she knows he’s not telling her everything.”
