Y&R’s Beth Maitland Shares the Most Beautiful Selfie

Cell phones are very convenient ways to take pictures, and they come with tons of apps that let you adjust all kinds of settings and filters to make the subject look the way you want it to be seen. But THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS star Beth Maitland (Traci) shared an unfiltered selfie that she took of herself on X/Twitter in order to illustrate her inspirational message to fans about growing older.

“Some rainy days I look in the mirror and see all the wrinkles and sun spots and blemishes and lines,” she wrote. “And then I remember how I got them. All the sunny days and laughter and tears. The growing through change and pain and loss. The joy of triumph and surprise.” She concluded with: “Hey, let it rain.”

Maitland has been playing Traci Abbott back since 1982 and Y&R viewers have watched the character grow from an insecure young woman into the wise and confident matriarch of the Abbott family. They have also watched the actress deliver award-worthy performances over the years with Maitland taking home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1985 and being nominated again in the same category in 2019.

Naturally, Maitland’s post received thousands of likes and inspired some fans to reply by echoing her sentiments and sharing their own photos celebrating their various ages. And, of course, there were tons of replies letting the actress know just how beautiful she looks.

Age is just a number, after all!
