Y&R’s Max Page Caught COVID

Tags:

We’ve got bad news and good news. The bad news is that THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Max Page (ex-Reed) caught COVID. The good news is that he’s now recovered and ready to go back to school! “It’s a school night for Max!” his mother happily posted to Instagram. “After an unexpected hospital stay and surgery, Max then acquired COVID when it was almost time to return to school. Symptoms were mild and his isolation has been served. He’s super excited to rejoin senior year!”

On Sept. 15, Page was admitted to the hospital to get his sporadic fevers under control before he underwent another surgery to replace his leads and pacemaker. Born with a congenital heart defect, Page has been in and out of the hospital for more than a dozen surgeries during his young life. And though the recovery was difficult, he was home by Sept. 23 in time to celebrate his 17th birthday on Oct. 7!

“Proud beyond measure of Max and brother Els,” Mom declared. “Life gives you legit challenges and you handle them well… always focus forward, boys! Now go get some sleep tonight — it’s a school night! Very grateful for the St. Margarets Episcopal School community and their support during this time. Max and Els are blessed to be Tartans.”

Although he’s now a teenager, Y&R fans remember Page as an adorable little boy from when he played J.T. and Victoria’s son, Reed Hellstrom, from 2009-15. He also became famous as the little Darth Vader in the 2013 Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial that went viral.

After everything Page has been through in his life, it’s no surprise that COVID couldn’t keep him down, either. This young man is clearly going places, and we can’t wait to see where his life takes him!
