Judith Chapman Returns to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS

Trouble is coming back to Genoa City! Judith Chapman is returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as the irrepressible Gloria Fisher Abbott Bardwell! The fan-favorite character hasn’t been seen since her last appearance in 2018, but Soap Opera Digest is reporting that she’ll be back on screen in October.

The character of Gloria was first introduced back in April 2004 with KNOTS LANDING star Joan Van Ark in the role, but she stepped down in January 2005 and Chapman stepped into Gloria’s stilettos. By 2011, the actress was taken off-contract and bumped to recurring, so her appearances became more sporadic and by 2015, she’d practically faded away completely. But by Christmas 2016, Gloria was back and stirring up drama until she once again departed in October 2018.

Chapman then went on to take over the role of Diana Colville on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, a move that reunited her with her Y&R son Greg Rikaart (Kevin), who was playing Leo on the NBC sudser at the time. But now that Rikaart is back in Genoa City, it seems only appropriate that Gloria comes home as well.

At this time, there is no information regarding Chapman’s first air date back or how long this particular stint will last, but hopefully, it’s for a very long time! Poor Jack has been at loose ends lately and could really use the kind of excitement that Gloria brings! Stay tuned to see what happens!
