THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL to be Preempted Today
Fans of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS and THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL who live on the East Coast should prepare for a preemption on Friday, Nov. 5. CBS has announced that it will be airing coverage of the memorial service being held for Colin Powell beginning at 12 p.m. ET.
CBS News will begin its special report anchored by Norah O’Donnell beginning at noon. Although there are no details as to how long the network coverage will last, it will definitely impact Y&R and could also preempt B&B, which normally begins at 1:30 p.m. ET.
Because the live coverage of Powell’s memorial should only affect the East Coast airings of the CBS soaps, this may not be a national preemption. If that were the case, Friday’s episodes would simply be bumped to Monday and fans wouldn’t have to worry about missing a single episode.
Neither Y&R nor B&B have made any official announcements regarding any schedule changes at this time, so it’s likely that fans living in the affected time zones who find their favorite soaps preempted will have to catch up by watching them online at either CBS.com or on Paramount+.
